Bukowski: poems#2

Trevor I agree with you about Bukowski's writing. It is like bar talk. But it is bar talk with poetics built in. So I have posted another piece of writing that you sent me.

Cause And Effect

the best often die by their own hand
just to get away,
and those left behind
can never quite understand
why anybody
would ever want to
get away
from
them

Yes, reading Bukowski we must be carefull and ready to read behind the words. He is a voice of a personalized protest against a society who has never accepted him. Or he never accepted to be a part of such a society. He also appers to be carefull enough not to treat shadows as if it is consisted of something material. Especially with the subject of love.
